Every time, when I’m searching on the Internet, there is something new that I find. Today I discovered that you can register your blog at Amazon so it will become available for Kindle users to subscribe to.  This would be a feature that would be interesting for young people, that would be prone to use a Kindle.  The older generation will no doubt want to stick with an old-fashioned book.

The sign-up process at Amazon is all done in a very professional way and it works very smoothly. New subscribers can enjoy your blog for free for two weeks after which a nominal monthly fee of $0.99 will be charged.

The cool thing about the Kindle is that anything you purchase is pushed to the Kindle wirelessly through what Amazon calls ‘Whispernet’.   This makes it very attractive to buy eBooks from Amazon; you never have to connect your Kindle to your computer to receive them.  In fact, you don’t even need to own a computer;  you can order books right from your Kindle.

The same is true for blogs. When you subscribe to my blog through Amazon, all the updates will be sent to your Kindle automatically. It will even display the pictures I have in my blog, although they will be in black and white.

It is amazing how much new stuff is out there every day. It is very hard to keep up with all of this even if you can spend all day on the Internet. I sometimes cannot imagine that the vast majority of people in the Western world is not using the Internet at all. Maybe they send some e-mail or maybe they do a little Skype, but they don’t use the Internet to shop, to find things and for entertainment.

It will be a while before we will be able to get that group on board as well. The Internet has to be much more user-friendly than it is today, to convince these Internet illiterates to use this medium.

In the meantime the younger generation doesn’t know any better than that the Internet has always been there. They do everything online. That is why our Internet marketing campaigns should be focused on the young people if we want the best results.
